PacsSCAN is a software solution that allows non-image documents to be scanned and included with patient images at the point of diagnosis!
PacsSCAN software is installed on a standard PC with network connections to the PACS/RIS System where patients enter the workflow stream. Critical notes are scanned, matched with the appropriate RIS patient information, and converted to an image series, which is included with the DICOM patient study. When the radiologist opens the study for interpretation, he not only has the study examination, but supporting non-image information that may be critical to a confident diagnosis.
